Bev & Paul Vanstone have been Managers Of 'The Midget' For 13 years

 and have a beautiful 7 year old Daughter called Grace.

Bev and Paul are  Trainer Managers and  help the recruitment team in Greeneking. We are also a committee members for Abingdon Pubwatch Group

History of The Midget

The Pub was opened on the 12th December 1974 with the brewers "Morlands". They had a competition to name the it. As the MG works was based in Abingdon the winning entry had chosen The "Magic Midget" after an MG racecar. John and Val Hitchcock were the first landlords and stayed running the pub for 5 years. The "Magic Midget" was then refurbished several times with three different bars catering for families and the community. Back in 2002 it completely transformed in to one open bar layout. Concentrating on good food, live music and sport. With The dramatic new look it also shortened its name to The "Midget" it became modern, brighter and more appealing to its female customers. They have recently had another sparkle and freshened up their look again so come along annd see for yourselves!

 The "Midget" is going from strength to strength, regularly winning awards for its food and customer service. With external garden and decked areas, public and lounge bar, heated smoking area and state of the art TV's. Sky HD , 3D TV and ESPN feature at the "Midget" and it always has something going on every day of the week.

In 2010 Bev, Paul and their team at the Midget won 'Pub Of The Year' for Greene King and Pride themselves in delivering fantastic service, amazing food, uncompromprimizing standards and quality drinks. They are Cask Masque accredited and have 5 stars in our 'scores on the doors' Food standards award.

The "Midget" is definitely the place to Eat & Drink in Abingdon.
